What's in our juices/smoothies

What goes into the juices/smoothies often depends on the health of the person & what they need. Also to a degree on what is in season. Almost all the produce is organic or grown without presticides some just picked from the forests/jungles.  

 Why do we use fruit and vegetable smoothies?

1) Most people are very deficient in nutrients. These smoothies provide the nutrients that encourage detoxification and healing.

2) Most people are extremely deficient in enzymes. These smoothies provide enzymes that encourage detoxification and healing.

3) Smoothies contains the whole fruit and vegetable, proving much needed fiber. Fiber enhances the bowel function and the cleansing process. It provides food for the correct bowel flora.  

Organic Lemon Juice - adds a zesty clean taste. Lemon is reknowned for being very alkaline forming in the body and extremely good for the liver, a major detoxing organ. 95% of our lemons come from our garden or our land further up in the mountains. See lemon for more info 

Ginger - is often added, it is anti-inflammatory, increases the circulation and more.

Pineapple - full of enzymes that add cleansing and detoxification, also anti-inflammatory. Panama has some of the best pineapples.

Passion fruit - soothes the digestive tract, rich in Vitamin C, antioxidants, plus magnesium - many people do not get enough magnesium (needed for a good functioning bowel, nervous system and muscles).

Blueberries, blackberries - very rich in anti-oxidants and are extremely cleansing.

Water Melon - is extremely good for cleansing and hydrating the body, combats bloating and puffiness.

Papaya - is a potent detoxifier and crammed with beta-carotene. Papaya contains an enzyme called papain.

Celery - helps to cleanse joints, as well as having a diuretic effect (reduces fluid retention). Helps to cleanse the body of the sodium deposits.  

Carrot - excellent source of betacarotene (body converts what it needs to vitamin A) carrots are renowned for being good for the liver.

Parsley - good source of minerals and chorophyll a powerful cleanser, very good blood purifier and is great for stimulating the bowels. Good for the kidneys and acts as a diuretic helping to solve fluid retention problems. It reduces coagulants in the veins, and helps to clear or prevent kidney stones. Rich in chlorophyll, anti-oxidants, a very affective cleanser. 

Cucumber - cleanses the whole system, aids in digestion, a good diuretic (reduces fluid retention), a mild laxative, helps flush out the kidneys and the bladder, and helps to dissolve uric acid build-up.

Soursop (Guanabana), Custard Apples (Chirimoya) - excellent for cleansing, anti-oxidant rich, and anti-cancerous.

Zucchini (courgette) - encourage a healthy digestion, generally detoxifies, lowers cholesterol, mild laxative and diuretic properties. Helps the liver function better, aids the metabolism, and help stabilize blood sugar levels. 

Cabbage - heals the digestive lining in general, rich in vitamin U good for healing ulcers, very effective cleanser.

Guava - good for the skeletal and lymphatic system, helps the body in combating free-radicals, helps ease constipation, strengthens the digestive system, lowers cholesterol and helps improve the texture of the skin.

Beet root - blood purifier and good for the liver.

Naranjilla - high levels of vitamin c, rich in fiber, iron and water. Diuretic properties, helps with sleep, relieves symptoms of nervousness, encourages strong hair, nails and bones, contains a compound that help cholesterol levels.

Chayote - helps cleanse kidneys and bladder.
